We will visit the ancient Kremlin, the first bricks of which were laid in 10 century; St. Sophia Cathedral and the Belfry of St. Sophia Cathedral were erected by architects from Byzantium and Kiev in 11 century. It was used as a public place of worship and as a burial place of outstanding Novgorod citizens such as princes, archbishops and posadniks; the Millennium of Russia monument, constructed as a symbol of unification of the old and the new Russia, Building of the Former Public Offices where the main expositions of the Novgorod Museum: History of Novgorod and the Novgorodian Lands, Old Russian Iconography of the 16th and 17th Centuries, and Russian Painting of the 18th to 20th centuries are housed.
